Easter Weekend
The easter weekend was a great one On Thursday the church was taught by Cornelius Xulu (from the Johannesburg Church) on the easter weekend and how the Good Friday and Easter Monday really relate to the three days and three nights that Jesus was in the grave, a very informative lesson.
On Friday morning a few brothers went up Kgale hill to pray together. It was overcast and very misty but the faith of one brother said it would not rain, so we went up. The Lord held back the clouds and opened the mist and though the climb was a bit more challenging than had been anticipated, we had a great time up there. The sisters had a great time of learning with Zama Xulu (Cornelius' wife) in the afternoon of the same day.
That night a number of brothers and sisters arrived in a combi from South Africa (Pretoria, Johannesburg...). It was very encouraging to see the faith and determination of these children of God as they fought through failing plans to make sure they come to be with us. Eventually they had to hire the transport they arrived in, someone who was going to spend the night in South Africa, he had to just change plans and drive them to Botswana, they then paid for the rest of the open seats. They finally arrived after mid-night and we were all happy to see them.
Saturday was relaxed with some people attending the wedding of a family member of one of the brothers (in Africa you all are invited to a wedding - the church was invited). In the evening we had a party at a brother's house and it was good to fellowship everyone. There we learnt of another sister who works in South Africa, closer to Botswana, who had driven here just to share the weekend with us, sister, you are always welcome.
Sunday was the greatest day. It started with a song and bible reading service, singing a series of songs the talk about the events of the easter weekend and reading through the carefully arranged scriptures as to how the events of the weekend went. A message from Cornelius Xulu sealed it off and a number of songs that help us to look forward to the second coming of Christ closed the incredible service. There were snacks in the form of watermellons and corn and while lunch was being prepared there was a lot of fellowship at the church property as we talked, played games and such. The kids had a blast on the jumping castle. Lunch was later served and everyone was happy.
Thanks to everyone that participated in making this weekend a great one. Special thanks to the Worship team for a great job in leading the service. Cornelius and Zama and all the brothers and sisters from South Africa, we love you lots. The Lord bless you.
